World Sleep Society (founded by World Association of Sleep Medicine and World Sleep Federation) has collaborated with the Canadian Sleep Society to host World Sleep 2019. The venue selected for the congress on sleep medicine from September 20-25, 2019 is the Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, Canada. Located on British Columbia’s waterfront with mountain views, the Vancouver Convention Centre offers convenient access to downtown visitor amenities.
World Sleep 2019 offers a worldwide forum inviting sleep professionals to advance current medical and scientific thinking, discover ways to improve sleep health and encourage the prevention and treatment of sleep disorders. Participants can plan to submit their latest scientific findings in 2018. World Sleep Society will begin collecting scientific symposia submissions September 1, 2018. Abstracts for World Sleep 2019 will be collected as of December 1, 2018.
World Sleep Society
World Sleep Society currently represents over 600 individual members, 19 societies. It is located in over 50 countries and organizes the World Sleep Congress every other year.
In 2016, World Sleep Federation (WSF) and World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) collaborated to found one international organization: World Sleep Society.
World Sleep Federation (WSF) is an international organization founded in 1988. At the time of the collaboration, it comprised of seven charter members including American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Asian Sleep Research Society, Australasian Sleep Association, Canadian Sleep Society, European Sleep Research Society, Federation of Latin American Sleep Societies, and Sleep Research Society. The charter members represented 53 sleep societies and organizations, and over 12,000 individuals. WSF held educational congresses throughout the world every four years with the last meeting in Istanbul, Turkey in 2015.
